Pedestrian hit by car near Olympus High in Holladay, Utah
A 83-year-old man was critically injured in an auto-pedestrian accident near Olympus High School in Holladay. The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday across the street from the high school along 2300 East.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office says an 87-year-old man drove up on to the sidewalk and struck the 83-year-old victim who was installing sprinklers.

The driver told deputies he blacked out.

The accident happened near the entrance to a condominium complex.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The car has visual damage to the windshield.
